Yogi Bhajan, a master yogini responsible for bringing the technology of Kundalini Yoga to the west once, said: "The only thing that pays in your life is patience. The one who does not have patience is a patient. The highest test of a human being is whether he has patience or not."
I've had this quote from Yogi Bhajan placed inside the dashboard of my car for several years. It's tattered and worn and wrinkled. This quote is my touchstone. When I'm experiencing anxiety or distrust, I turn to these words and they help me to know (like I know like I know) that the universe is indeed conspiring in my favor - and everything is unfolding as it should. These words help me to keep up and keep going.
Patience is a radical virtue. It requires trust, but it also requires responsibility. It asks us to continue to follow our path, to be dilligent about our dreams, and continue to "walk the walk" whether it's pouring rain or the sun is shining. And just as it requires these things, it also illicits them. Through practicing patience, we gain trust and a greater sense of responsibility.
Patience brings out the best in us, and I think this is why Yogi Bhajan valued it so highly. People with patience are willing to focus on a goal or a dream until they realize it, and see the dream manifest and bloom.Gary Zukav, writer of The Seat of the Soul, describes earth as a school wherein each of us has our own personal ciriculum and the opportunity to study lessons. Patience seems to be a life lesson in my personal curriculum that I learn more about on a daily basis. This lesson is helping me to develop an inner resource, to continue to trust, and to show up wholeheartedly.The universe is arranging our affairs in perfect detail. When I get scared or doubtful, I can see that there is a direct correlation to these feelings and my own impatience. Fear is a teacher because it shows us how to lean into virtue and how to become free and unentangled from the bondage of the ego. When we lean into patience we become champions -not victims- of our lives.

Patience pays. Wait. Let the hand of God work for you. The One who has created you, let Him create all the environments, circumstances, and facilities and faculties.
Too kaahay doleh paraanee-aa tudh raakhaigaa sirjanhaar.
Jin paidaa-is too kee-aa so-ee day-ay aadhaar.
Oh individual, why you are in a very doubtful state? The One who has made you will take care of you. The One who has created this Universe, all the planets, planetary faculties and facilities on Earth, He is the One who has created you. Wait. Have patience. Lean on him.
And all best things will come to you.
Dwell in God. Dwell in God. Dwell in God. Befriend your soul. Dwell in God and befriend your soul. Dwell in God and befriend your soul. Dwell in God and befriend your soul. All the faculties and facilities of the Creation, which are in your best interest shall be at your feet.
You need million things. Million things will reach you if you are stable, established, firm, patient.
Remember, Creator watches over you and Creation is ready to serve you, if you just be you.
So please take away the ghost of your life and stop chasing round. Consolidate. Concentrate. Be you. And may all the peace and peaceful environments, prosperity approach you forever.
